The Saints put up 62 points on the Colts in week seven. 62. Forget ghosts, monsters and zombies – the Colts' defense was most afraid of Drew Brees and his rocket arm last Sunday. The veteran QB threw for 325 and five scores while New Orleans obliterated the winless Colts. Meanwhile, rookie running back Demarco Murray busted out for a franchise record 253 yards for the Cowboys as Dallas cruised to a 34-7 victory over the Rams.

Maryland State Superintendent of Schools to retire in June

Maryland State Superintendent of Schools Nancy Grasmick, 72, announced her retirement on March 30 after serving in the position for nearly 20 years. Her last day as superintendent will be June 30, according to Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Media Relations Director William Reinhard. The Maryland Board of Education is responsible for appointing her replacement but has not selected anyone yet.

The Magruder Colonels varsity field hockey team (6-2) defeated Blair (5-2) in an aggressive, fast-paced game with a resulting score of 3-0. Although the team's defense stayed strong, lack of passing from Blair allowed the Colonels to secure a shutout win. The team's offense was not connecting as much as they usually do in previous games, which resulted in no goals for the Blazers.
