Blair varsity boys soccer (10-1) beat the Walter Johnson Wildcats (9-1) 2-0 to bounce back from their 2-1 home loss to Whitman the game before. The victory boosted Blair into first place in the south division over the formerly undefeated Wildcats.

The Blair Blazers (12-1) beat the Sherwood Warriors (3-5-1) 2-0 Tuesday night. The Blazers dominated throughout the game, keeping the ball in their opponent's half for the vast majority of the match. This game was Blair's senior night and the last home game before playoffs.


Blair's strong offense shreds the Springbrook defense in 38-20 win

The Montgomery Blair Blazers (4-2) used the passing game on offense and forced turnovers on defense to beat the Springbrook Blue Devils (4-2) by a score of 38-20 after the game was delayed nearly two hours due to lightning Friday night.

Blair varsity boys' soccer (8-0) beat the Einstein Titans (6-2) 4-0 in a heated game that was close until the end. Throughout the game it looked as if the Blazers might lose their perfect record, but strong performances from senior forwards Sean Munroe and Jimmy McMillian led to late goals that eventually won Blair the game.

The Blair girls' varsity tennis team (3-0) struggled all afternoon against Sherwood (1-2) in their third match of the season, but eventually came away with victory. The Blazers won four of seven games, just as they did in their home opener against Walter Johnson (1-1) two weeks ago.

In a dramatic victory Wednesday, Blair baseball defeated Walt Whitman High School 15-4, avenging last year's loss that knocked the Blazers out of the playoffs. After falling behind early in the game, Blair scored twelve runs in the fourth inning to call the mercy rule.


Girls' Softball Dominates in Five Inning Shut Out

Girls' varsity softball (14-3) had a quick and fairly unchallenging win against the Churchill Bulldogs (8-9-1) Monday night. The game was framed by a great defensive and pitching showing from the Blazers. Key fielding errors on the part of the Bulldogs allowed the Blazer offense to zoom past Churchill and close the game, 18-1 Blair.

On a beautiful night, in front of an energetic crowd, Blair baseball entered the playoffs with a bang. Behind solid pitching, excellent defense and a powerhouse offensive performance, Blair looked unstoppable, beating Walter Johnson High School after the mercy rule was called in the fifth inning with a score 12-1. The Blazers now move on to their second playoff game against Walt Whitman, the team that knocked Blair out of the playoffs last year.

The Blair boys' varsity lacrosse team (7-6) entered their first playoff game Wednesday afternoon at home against Kennedy. After beating the Cavaliers 10-1 when the teams met during the regular season, the Blazers came out looking strong and confident. They ended up winning by 17 goals, and kept their first clean sheet of the season.

The Blair girls' lacrosse team (5-7) celebrated a Senior Night victory against the Wheaton Knights (2-10) with a final score of 15-4. From the beginning it was going to be a night for the seniors on the team and they showed this with all of the senior attack getting on the scoreboard in their dominating performance.

The last home game of the regular season was rife with strong defensive plays and quality pitching performances, all backed up with strong offensive play. Performing for a packed house of ardent fans, Blair took down Blake High School 6-1, to improve their record to 13-3 on the season.

Blair Varsity baseball won its seventh game in a row Wednesday night, taking down the Wheaton Knights 10-0 to improve to a record of 12-3 on the season. This game comes after Tuesday night's division clinching 5-4 victory at Walt Whitman High School, the team that knocked Blair out of the playoffs last year.

Blair Baseball (5-2) defeated the Clarksburg Coyotes (3-3) Tuesday in a 4-3 nailbiter, scoring the walk-off run in the eighth inning. Blair relied on solid pitching to keep them in the game and clutch hits to pull ahead after falling behind early. Blair improved to a record of 5-2 for the season with Tuesday's win.
