Guest Speaker to address Silver Spring Library

Courtland Milloy will interview Dorothy Height


The Silver Spring Library will sponsor a discussion between recently published author Dorothy Height and The Washington Post Columnist Courtland Milloy on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 8:00 p.m.

Height is known for being the President of the National Council of Negro Women for more than 40 years. She has dedicated herself to the Civil Rights Movement and has advised former U.S. Presidents. As part of the Friends of the Silver Spring Library Speaker Series, Height will discuss her new memoir titled Open Wide the Freedom Gates. The book will be available for purchase at the program, and she will sign it upon request.
