Blair student tased, restrained by police officer during school

A Montgomery County Police Officer tased a female Blair freshman in the courtyard outside the Student Activity Center (SAC) during fifth period Thursday, after the student allegedly assaulted the officer.


Blair student struck by car, in Intensive Care Unit at Suburban Hospital

Blair junior Van Le was struck by a moving car at 3:30 p.m. Monday while walking home from school, according to Principal Renay Johnson. Le was transported to Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Md., where he is currently receiving treatment.


Blair vice principal retires

At the end of the first semester, Vice Principal Andrew Coleman announced his retirement, leaving Blair with a vacant vice principal position. Blair teacher William Currence has filled as interim vice principal for the remainder of the year.


Blair sophomore announces SMOB candidacy

Blair sophomore Christina McCann is officially in the running to become the next Student Member of the Board (SMOB). As a nominee, McCann is the first Blair student to have filed for the position since 2007 when then-junior Will Bucher was placed on the ballot.


Four Corners businesses help enforce closed-campus policy

Montgomery County Board of Education opposes state bill

On Nov. 13, the Montgomery County Public Schools Board of Education spoke against a bill that intends to expand the size of the board and alter the election process for district members of the board. A scheduled hearing by the Maryland General Assembly will take place next month.


Montgomery County initiates pedestrian safety campaign

Last week, Montgomery County Ride On buses started to display ads featuring pictures of Blair students' eyes as part of a Montgomery County campaign targeted at high school students in the Four Corners area to improve pedestrian safety in areas with the highest densities of collisions.
