Horror films like "The Fourth Kind” have solidified the horror industry's move from gore and sadism to the kind of psychological thriller that made Alfred Hitchcock a household brand. With a recurring style of imposing suspense and cinematography over gruesome and gaudy storylines, the meaning of hardcore thriller is being redefined and "The Fourth Kind" is more than enough proof that change is good.

In the premier game that set high standards for the course of the season, the varsity girls' volleyball team (1-0) put forth skilled effort to defeat the Kennedy Cavaliers (0-1) in solid margins. The team merged teamwork and talent against the Cavaliers in consistent surges of defensive strongholds, resulting in three straight wins with a final score of 25-20, 25-10 and 25-11.

With the premiere of "Brüno" last Friday, Sasha Baron Cohen unleashed the kind of unadulterated, unrelenting comical assault that became world-known with his 2006 hit "Borat." This time parading about as a 19-year-old Austrian man in search of fame, Cohen turns up the gas to a point where you think he can't go any farther, and then hits it again.
