At senior night for the Blair boys' lacrosse team, players and fans alike were pumped and ready for a win. But the undeniable shooting and passing efficiency of the Kennedy Cavaliers left Blazers wondering what happened, when the game ended with a score of 6-5.

The varsity boys' lacrosse team made Blazers proud by stepping up their play and defeating the Northwest Jaguars 10-3. Throughout the entire game, the Blazers put their expert passing and scoring skills to good use and had one of their most solid performances of the season thus far.

The Blair boy's varsity lacrosse team played a strong and steady game on both sides of the ball at last Thursday's game, and succeeded in converting ordinary shots into spectacular goals. Three individual Blazers racked up hat-tricks and trounced the Blake Bengals 10-4.

This year has been a difficult one for the Lady Blazers, but tonight it looked like all that futility would finally come to an end and they would get their second win of the year, this time against the Magruder Colonels. Unfortunately, the team could not hold on to the Colonels and despite the girls' teamwork and the 32 points they got from sophomore Jenny Williams, lost 51-60.

JAN. 19, NELSON H. KORBEN MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM– The Blair varsity girls' basketball team played hard and as a team but, in the end, could not overcome the relentless attack of the Richard Montgomery Rockets. The Blazers, playing at home before an enthusiastic crowd, pressured their opponents all night but ended the game with a frustrating 45-53 loss. Although victory eluded the Blazers, the girls showed considerable improvement upon past performances, and gave the excited crowd something to cheer about.

High school Christmas plays at Blair can be hit or miss propositions. Yet this year — as was confirmed by the audience's enthusiastic reception — the winter's play is definitely a hit. From the heartwarming opening scene to the dramatic closing(s) of the curtain, Blair's rendition of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" steals our hearts and tucks us comfortably into that cozy place we reserve for holiday memories and traditions.

"Hollywoodland" doesn't have a clue
