The ball bounces off the back of the iron, and eighth-seeded California wins in overtime, sending some into raucous roars and others to the floor shaking their heads in disbelief.

The highlight of this nationally broadcast high-school basketball game between St. Vincent's-St. Mary's (Akron, OH) and Mater Dei (San Francisco, CA) is 17-year-old superstar forward LeBron James.

With winter break around the corner and the first big snow already behind us, Chips' own Michael Sidorov looked for the best local sledding hills and ranked the sleds to go down them on. Note: Run times and average speeds calculated for a 5'6”, 140-pound male. Times and speeds are the average of five runs. The same green plastic saucer was used at every hill.

NOV 1, QUINCE ORCHARD—All Blair representatives were eliminated in their first match at the regional tournament at Quince Orchard High School. Seeing their first action since a Sept 30 match against Einstein High School, freshman singles player Stephanie Paul and both doubles teams lost in straight sets.

Girls' Tennis matches postponed

Due to rainouts and Code Blue restrictions, girls' tennis has had five matches postponed since Sept 26. The 5-1 Blazers have only played two divisional matches and four have been postponed.

Coming off of a tough win at B-CC, Blair made quick work of Wheaton today with a 7-0 victory. No matches went to a third set on a day where Blair players lost a total of only seven games.
