Bringing back the classics this holiday season
Looking for some holiday music to play during those big family get-togethers? To help get you past those awkward moments with distant cousins, loud aunts and grumpy uncles, here are some classic songs to lighten up the mood.
All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey
If you're spending Christmas with that special someone and want to make their holiday even more special, play this song and show them how you really feel. This song can't get old because of its catchy tune and chorus. Mariah Carey's vocals shine in this holiday track and the best part is that it doesn't even give off that carol-y vibe. You can easily dance to it, but be warned, you might need a partner.
Jingle Bell Rock – Bobby Helms
You can't go wrong with jingle bells. This is a fun song to sing with friends and family during the holidays near the fireplace. Bobby Helms's country voice makes the song fun to listen to and sing along with. Odds are that the majority of the people at your holiday party will know this song, so almost everyone can sing along.
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
Try something new and get everyone up and dancing around your beautiful Christmas tree before you have to take it down. Brenda Lee gives a lively vibe to the song and you can practically hear her dancing. This song has a great melody that makes you want you to groove to the beat, especially with its sweet sounding saxophone in the background.
Winter Wonderland
While waiting for the snow to come so you can finally build a snowman, try daydreaming about that winter wonderland while listening to this classic. Though over a hundred artists have sung this song, each rendition is unique, so just pick your favorite. Find the one that suits you and listen to it with a mug of steaming hot chocolate. Before you know it you'll be humming the tune all day and thinking about snow days (even when its 50 degrees outside).
The Chanukah Song – Adam Sandler
For those of you who don't celebrate Christmas, here's a cute little number by Adam Sandler. A novelty hit in 1994, this song is one of those tracks that you have to listen to over and over again. It'll bring out a smile as soon as you begin to listen to the lyrics. It's even educational - you can find out which public figures are Jewish.
Saaraa Farooq. Saaraa Farooq, yes, she has an abundance of A's in her name, just don't ask what her middle name is. She can be found watching Doctor Who, listening to music (ATL, The Beatles, ARTTM, rock, alternative, and all that good stuff...), or taking pictures of … More »
