How to make your own empanadillas
Every culture has its own special dish, just like most families have their own special recipe that's passed down from generation to generation. To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we on Silver Chips Online's SCOrumptious are starting a special food series focusing on traditional Hispanic dishes. To start off, senior Luna Warren's family has the perfect recipe just for you!
Many traditional dishes throughout the world include something breaded with a filling of sorts, and empanadillas are just that in Spain, with a touch of Mediterranean variety.
Ingredients:
Masa
Masa, the small, circular dough used to hold the filling, is sold pre-made at many stores and is much more time-efficient when making empanadillas. Warren recommends buying a 12-pack of masa from the brand Goya.
