Butterfinger Caramel Apples

An innovative twist on a Halloween custom


Everyone knows when it is time for Halloween, it is time for caramel apples. Enjoy this seasonal treat with a little Butterfinger twist!

Makes 6 servings

Kitchenware:
- Craft sticks
- Kitchen knife
- Measuring spoons
- Baking sheet or tray
- Wax paper
- Microwave-safe bowl

Ingredients:
- 6 wooden craft sticks
- 6 tart apples, washed, dried and stems removed
- 1 package (14 ounces) caramels
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 Butterfinger candy bars, chopped

Preparation:


1. Line the tray or baking sheet with wax paper

2. Insert 1 wooden craft stick into the stem end of each apple

3. Microwave the caramel and water in a large, microwave-safe bowl on high for 2 minutes and stir

4. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

5. Dip each apple in melted caramel and scrape excess caramel from the bottoms of the apple

6. Quickly roll bottom half of apples in chopped Butterfinger and then place the apple on a prepared tray

7. Refrigerate for 45 minutes

8. Store apples in the refrigerator in an airtight container
