Blair JV Volleyball beats Kennedy 2-0

OCT 23, NELSON H. KOBREN MEMORIAL GYMNASIUM-

Blair's JV Volleyball team finished strong, winning their last game of the season to Kennedy with scores of 25-19 and 25-10. This victory made their overall season record 8-5. Today's victory was accomplished by maintaining the consistency of their serves along with making improvements in overall teamwork.

Surges of points went back and forth throughout the first game but Blair eventually pulled ahead. Junior Phung Le hit a well-aimed serve, bringing a swift end to a long first game.

The Blazers started strong in the second game, swiftly gaining a lead of 9-1. The first play in the second game consisted of the Blair team bumping Kennedy's serve, then setting and spiking the ball with absolute precision, into an opening on the other side.

Team morale is believed to have helped Blazers' performance. "Our serves were much better but I think just being calm helped us a lot. We were just having fun out there," said Le.

Freshman Alice Fan made an interesting mistake today when she leaned back too far trying to set an oncoming ball and sent it flying backward, making a swish in the basketball hoop behind her to the delight of Kennedy players and Blair players alike.
