Blair's Symphonic Band will be participating in the State Festival after receiving a I rating at the Maryland Music Educators MBDA/MODA District II Band Festival.

The I rating that the Symphonic Band recieved at the festival held at Blair on March 13 is the highest possible rating that a school may receive, allowing Blair to qualify for participation in the State Festival.

Blair will be performing on April 24. The festival is usually held at the University of Maryland College Park, but due to some difficulties there, Blair band director Kurt Lucas was asked if Blair's facilities could be used. However, due to the spring musical, She Loves Me, Blair's auditorium will not be open at that time. The place for the festival has yet to be decided.
