The Blazers out-possessed the Panthers to improve their record to 7-2

The Blair Blazers (7-2) obliterated the Paint Branch Panthers (0-6) 10-1 on Thursday, Sept. 26. The Blazers maintained possession for most of the game, starting off strong with two goals from senior captain Noa Dorah. Freshman Magda Goles then scored to give Blair a 3-0 lead. The Panthers responded with a header from senior Nadia Fox off of a direct kick to make it a two-point game. However, Paint Branch barely touched the ball for the rest of the half while struggling to maintain possession when they gained the ball. Blair continued to dominate, with sophomore Marlee Ginyard scoring two goals and junior Sophia Kim scoring one, assisted by senior captain Janie Pitner. Dorah put one more in before the end of the first half, when the Blazers led 7-1. Blair had lots of good passing throughout the second half, and continued to have possession for the majority of the time. Dorah and Kim both scored another goal as did senior Dede Greenfield. Although it wasn't her best game, Dorah was satisfied with her hat trick. "I missed a few opportunities, but I put a few away, so it's okay," she said. Paint Branch couldn't recover from a nine-point deficit, as the Blazers cruised to a 10-1 victory.

The Blazers play their next home game against the Sherwood Warriors on Monday, Oct. 7 at 7:15 p.m.
