Get to know the Blair cheer team
Blair's cheer team puts on a stellar performance that earns them second place in the countywide cheerleading competition.
On Saturday Oct. 28, Blair placed seventh out of eight teams at the Montgomery County Division I County Championship at Montgomery Blair, and out of 18 high schools competed across all three divisions.
The Blair varsity cheerleading team won the Montgomery County Division II County Championship and Spirit Award on Saturday, Nov. 12 for the second year in a row. After winning this year and last year, the team will move up to Division I for next year.
With the fall sports season coming into swing Blazers are looking to make this season a memorable one. Members of each team selected three athletes to look out for this season. Here is what they came up with:
On Jan. 26, the Blair cheerleaders placed first at the Panther Cheer Competition at Paint Branch High School in Silver Spring, Md. The team out-cheered second-place Paint Branch by 36 points. The judges also awarded Blair the spirit award and the captain's award to senior Rachel Robey.
On Saturday, the Blair cheer team competed against seven other teams in the Montgomery County Division II cheerleading competition, which took place at Blair, and took home the spirit award for the eighth year in a row.
The Blair cheerleaders took home the Division II title, the Spirit Award and the Division II Captain's Award at the Panther Cheer Competition at Paint Branch High School on Jan. 28.
