New MCPS math curriculum sparks concern

Earlier this school year, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) introduced Curriculum 2.0 to all elementary schools, generating both approval and concern among parents and teachers around the county. Recently, a petition against this new curriculum surpassed 1000 signatures and was brought to the Board of Education on Dec. 11.

In the past month, Metro Alerts reported four disabled trains, four train malfunctions, five signal and power problems, three instances where all entrance escalators malfunctioned and one track issue – just on the Red Line alone.

Many of us high schoolers deal with stressful situations outside of school. Whether it's playing a sport, taking care of younger siblings/elderly relatives or achieving a personal goal, we all need time away from schoolwork in order to deal with such situations. However, Diane Tran, a high school student from Texas, did not have enough time in the day for all that she had to do.
