On Wednesday, Oct. 30, the Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros 6-2 in Game 7 of the World Series in Houston to win their first MLB championship in franchise history.
The Washington Nationals have flipped a lot of players over the offseason after a disappointing finish last season, and getting toppled by the New York Mets for the National League East.
The busy free-agent market left the Blue Jays and Red Sox with major facelifts, but the now healthy Orioles won't be giving up the AL East crown without a fight. Meanwhile out west, the reigning World Series champion San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics may be looking at a big fallout this season.

Sept. 7 marked Stephen Strasburg's last start of the season because of the Nationals' self-imposed innings limit. From day one, the team has said that they will shut down Strasburg after around 160 to 180 innings.
Big things are happening in DC. The Nationals are in first place in the tough National League (NL) East, their marketing department has brought in "#Natitude" amidst the "Take Back the Park" series with the Phillies and super prospect Bryce Harper is finally here.
From March 28 to April 1, freshmen Max Kronstadt and Javier Lopez-Casterno competed in the Ice Hockey National Championships in Wayne, NJ, with their team, the Montgomery Blue Devils (U14). The team came within a point of making the quarterfinals at Nationals and finished the season with a record of 28-13-4.
