Stephanie Hernandez is a senior and the Opinions/Editorials editor for the paper. She took honors classes throughout her freshman year and transfered into the CAP program her sophmore year. She has won several awards throughout her academic career, including two plaques from her junior high school for academic achievement. Her interests include writing freelance skits, and following Latin American and European soccer clubs and continent tournaments. Her musical influences range from the work of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana and Bush, to Bob Dylan and The Beatles. She is an avid tennis player whose favorite books include Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison and Girl Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen. She has traveled to Central America three different times and received a letter from President Clinton on her academic achievement.
