Update: PSATs quarantined due to anthrax scare

The multiple choice scantron response sheets of the PSATs taken at Blair have been quarantined since October due to fears from the recent threat of bioterrorism.

Blair is one of around 1,200 schools around the country whose students' PSAT scores have been quarantined, according to the College Board website. Students have not yet received their scores, leaving them potentially at risk of losing scholarship opportunities.

The College Board has stated on its website (http://www.collegeboard.com) that the Educational Testing Service (ETS) said if results are not received by January 31, schools will be provided with information on how students should proceed with the application process for the National Merit Scholarship program.

There is still no evidence of whether the National Merit and Maryland Distinguished Scholars Program (MSDP) programs will extend their deadlines for applications as a result of the delay in PSAT scores.
