Annual event showcases Blair's extracurriculars
The annual Student Activity Fair will take place this Friday during both 5A and 5B lunch in the hallway leading up to the SAC and into the courtyard. The activity fair, hosted by Blair's SGA, will feature approximately 20 different clubs and sports teams.
The Student Activity Fair is designed to encourage all students to sign up for more extracurricular activities at Blair, according to SGA secretary Sumih Chi. During both lunches, students can come view each club or sports team's booth and, if interested, sign up for more information. "We hope…to increase students' awareness of the variety and availability of clubs at Blair," SGA President Molly Martinez said.
Although the SGA was not able to hold the fair in the gym as in previous years, according to Martinez, "having the fair in the courtyard and hallways will reach more students, whereas some students didn't even know the fair operated during lunch when it was located back in the gym."
SGA treasurer Malcolm Foley directed this year's Student Activity Fair with high hopes and expectations. With certain clubs incorporating performances into their stations, Foley expects a great turnout of students from both lunch periods. "Stop by and check it out!" he said.
