A kick off to fall fashion from head to toe
Silver Chic is back for its second year of announcing and denouncing the most popular fashions on the Blair Boulevard runway. Silver Chips Online is here to report the hottest trends from horns to hooves of the new back-to-school fall fashion. Leave it to Blair to take the top trends and twist them into their own, devilish ways. Congratulations Blazers for an impressive, fashionable entrance into the fall semester - we can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the year!
Head
Still in
Although the air is starting to get a cool nip to it, don't break out those sweaters quite yet! Instead, be sure to whip out last season's favorite colorful scarves for a smooth transition into the cooler weather. Girls can even add a little more spice to the chilly air and match the warm, cozy accessory with fun earrings like a classic pair of oversized hoops.
No need to hibernate quite yet! Add a little shock of color to your wardrobe with neon glasses, a fabulous look for both boys and girls. You can never have too many sunglasses, so be sure to pick up a couple of the funky shades for the end of summer! Another fun accessory this season are quirky-colored bandanas to wear around your neck. Put a little Silver Spring into this classic western fashion, choosing bandanas with cute prints or bold colors.
On the way out
Drop those chunky plastic accessories deep down into your jewelry box, never to be seen again (at least this fall)! Instead, opt for golden or silver-hue jewelry that can make your look glow against a backdrop of autumn colors.
Watch out for
Personality glasses are a cute accessory for both boys and girls that add a little attitude to a smart school environment. Another Blazer-favorite this season is glittering nose studs. A cute little sparkle can brighten both your face and your day!

A back-to-school wardrobe isn't complete without a plethora of crew and v-neck tees - break out the basics for another round, but look out for fun new patterns. Be sure to also steal a couple of button-up shirts from a brother, dad or boyfriend to put the "class" in "classroom." This style isn't only insanely comfortable, but cute and chic too!

With a lot of hot new designs this fall, don't be afraid to mix up different patterns to create your own unique look. Be on the look-out for florals, stripes and tie-dye to add some fun to a hum-drum schedule! Funky neon and graphic tees will do the trick.
Watch out for
Caution ladies, boys' neck-lines are starting to sink dangerously low! Although deep v-neck shirts have always been a sure hit for the lady-blazers, the boys aim to keep the summer spirit alive showing off their tanned and toned chests.
On the way out
Those ubiquitous "clever" graphic tees (think "It's all fun and games until someone loses an eyeball") may have been a big hit in past years, but this year try and keep your generic-brand jokes in the closet. Most of these shirts are either border-line offensive or plain un-funny. Pass over these overdone tees and put a sure smile on faces by wearing a cute, fresh wordless fall piece that's more appropriate for school.
Knees
Still in
That's right girls, keep rocking those printed dresses for as long as possible until cold weather forces that skin to cover up! Let those legs breathe with knee-length dresses and skirts while adding a pretty femininity to your look. Match these must-haves with the typical accessories, shoes or belt for a polished appearance. It's also time for Blazer déjà vu as we pull those dark skinny jeans out for another season. These classics flatter every shape and perfectly balance a cute, loose-fitting top. If you're feeling on the adventurous side, trade in those dark denim hues for a shock of color - be a part of the vertical rainbows streaming down Blair Boulevard.

Blazers are soaring sky-high with new high-waist jeans and skirts. This cute new look is a sure way to elongate legs and highlight the tiny of your waist! The downside to this new fad: the look can be disastrous if not handled appropriately, so take an extra second to tuck in that shirt and put on a cute belt!
Watch out for
Long, long ago we all retired our tattered jeans to the costume chest for future generations. But this laid-back look may be fighting for a comeback sooner than expected, so don't give them the heave-ho just yet! If you're not a fan of skinny jeans and are looking for a more comfortable style, it's time to introduce the boyfriend jeans. These loose-fitting denim favorites are more forgiving than skinny jeans and can look just as fresh if paired with the right shape-hugging shirt.
On the way out
Denim skirts have always been on the summer-fashion radar. But try and steer away from the skirt and head for jean shorts. These provide all cooling-benefits and you never have to worry about flashing those unmentionables when bending down to pick up a backpack or sitting on a desk. Another note - legs are in, and leggings under these denim skirts have been officially retired.
Toes
Still in
Don't fret, Blazers, because all of those cute flats you bought last year are ready to come out and walk the boulevard for another year! Feel free to experiment with different patterns to add a pop of color to your wardrobe. The comfortable grandpa-style moccasins are also back for another season for toasty toes alongside funky-colored tennis shoes. Boring has never been in style, so go out on a limb and buy those flashy sneaks you've been eyeing in the store - they'll pay for themselves in compliments from admirers!
Just in
If you have an old pair of colorful Keds lying in the back of your closet, be sure to break those out for a colorful alternative to brand name sneakers. Feel free to glam-up these comfortable kicks by drawing cute designs and shapes on them!
Watch out for
If you're willing to walk the long school day in a set of heels, be sure to watch out for the new chunky heel fad. These spunky shoes not only give your outfit a quirky look, but also help you keep balanced on the main staircase - at least more so than their skinny stiletto sister. Look for chunky heels in all sorts of colors and heights - up the inches and up the drama.
On the way out
We've all seen the animals prancing on feet for the past couple of years. But no more. Give these furry-friends a rest and opt for the cute boots. And if it is necessary to break out the fur, please save it for an absurdly cold day - you'll need to explain yourself.
