Clubs, parents encouraged to help

The SGA will hold a donation event for the tsunami relief efforts in Southeast Asia. Donation jars will be available along Blair Boulevard and in the SGA office during both lunches beginning next week.

The money collected by student donations will be given to the Save the Children Foundation and the Community Concern Society, an orphanage in Sri Lanka.

The SGA is also donating $1000 for the relief effort to UNICEF, according to junior SGA President Sebastian Johnson. The group is also encouraging parents of students and other clubs to provide assistance.

The tsunami disaster has affected numerous Blazers, according to Johnson. "This definitely hits close to home. We should be charitable and compassionate toward the victims of this terrible tragedy,” he said.
