Poem from Russia

Dec. 18, 2003, midnight | By Fidan Karimova | 21 years ago

Polly Zamorina is a high school student who goes to school in Russia. She likes rock music and some days wants to have her own band and sing, sing, sing. But for now she is concentrating on getting good grades and getting into a good University. Here is a poem that she has written followed by the English translation.

And I said – I am dying.
Having opened the window ajar.
Drunken wind surrounding me
Night spreads its dark wind
Don't judge me – I choose myself
Should I live or should I die.
If I bravely walk into abyss
Then there's a place that I could fly away to.
Then I know that this world
Does not have love and kindness,
Which turns me into a bird.
A color of a crow's wing.
