Blazers celebrate the end of the year with hot tracks

Summer break is almost here and Blazers are already daydreaming about trips to the beach, pool parties and endless days of sunshine. True, school hasn't ended yet (as your teachers are probably happy to remind you), but that doesn't mean that the fun can't start now. June's singles will have you dancing in class "High School Musical" style.

"Eenie Meenie" - Sean Kingston & Justin Bieber
Teen sensation Justin Bieber teams up with reggae singer Sean Kingston in this light-hearted pop song. Though the two singers have different vocal styles, they complement each other. The catchy chorus "shorty is an eenie miney mo lover" is sure to be an earworm; "Eenie Meenie" has a bright future at backyard barbeques.

"California Gurls" - Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg
Katy Perry's signature contralto vocals absolutely burst in this song while the star stays true to her California roots. The single is as fun and ready for parties as Perry herself. While the singer boasts that "nothing compares to the golden coast," even East Coast Blazers can't resist this foot tapping single.

"Tightrope" - Janelle Monae feat. Big Boi
Newcomer Janelle Monae makes an elegant entrance with her first full-length album "The ArchAndroid." The talented singer garnered a Grammy nomination in 2009 in Best Urban/Alternative Performance for the EP "Many Moons," and Monae's new album takes fans through her adventures as a savior figure to the android community Metropolis. The jazzy song "Tightrope" is effortlessly classy and cool. Big Boi's - Monae's old friend – rhythmic rapping joins Monae's smooth vocals flawlessly.

"Holiday" - Vampire Weekend
Vampire Weekend rocketed to success in 2010 with the release of their sophomore album "Contra." The indie pop-rock outfit is well known on the Boulevard for its sense of humor and upbeat tunes and "Holiday" embodies summer vacation, complete with carefree attitudes and jokes. Be sure to check out the new music video for "Holiday," it's a whimsical take on how King Louis XIV would like the 21st century.

"Cooler than Me (Single Mix)" - Mike Posner
"Cooler than Me" is the first single off of Posner's debut album, which will drop in late summer. The original single "Cooler than me" is witty but a little plain, but Posner's remix livens up the song with electronic synthesizers and a faster beat. By the end of the remix, it's clear that no one is cooler than Posner. He's got us all figured out.

"Dancing on my own" - Robyn
Swedish singer Robyn is well- known for her dance tunes from the nineties and now she's returning from a brief hiatus with a big bang. "Dancing on my own" is an electrically charged track with a lot tons of energy. It is hard to resist dancing to the catchy chorus; Robyn offers a fresh take on pop music for those tired of Britney Spears.
