Media Literacy Academy teacher leaves Blair

Phyllis Cohen, the lead teacher of the Media Literacy Academy to be introduced at Blair next year, will be leaving Blair after one year for personal reasons.

"I'm leaving Blair because I have two baby grandchildren who have been born in the last eight months," Cohen wrote in an e-mail. "I want to spend as much time as possible with them; babies grow so quickly and change so much during their first years."

The staff Cohen has worked with have made an indelible impression on her, even though she has spent so little time at the school. "I've only been at Blair for a year, but my fondest memory is of how welcoming and warm the staff was to me," wrote Cohen. "I've worked with several teachers as we get the Academy programs started, and they've been unfailingly professional and dedicated to the students at Blair." Cohen will be remembered by those who had the opportunity to work alongside her for her ambition and drive to see the Media Literacy Academy succeed.
