Newsbrief: Gainous makes announcement

Principal Gainous made several announcements after InfoFlow Friday morning.

First Gainous reminded students to stay out of the back hallways during lunch and that the emergency exits on the 20s, 40s, and 60s halls are not for student use.

Gainous then warned that as the weather gets warmer, more people try to get into the school, so students need to wear their IDs.

He also commented on the Honor Code given to students on Feb 7, saying that the code served to outline the rules on cheating and provide an appeal process but admitting that "the wording may not have been completely friendly." He offered support for the students working to improve the Honor Code (see Students work to replace honor code).

Finally, Gainous congratulated students on the Honor Roll, who will be receiving special IDs. The Renaissance Program promised new IDs for high-performing students in November but the IDs never arrived (see Issuing of honor roll IDs delayed). Students who improved their GPA by 0.5 from first to second marking period already have gold stars on their IDs.
