High-school students are invited to attend

In collaboration with Montgomery College and MCPS, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has organized Unity 2004, a multicultural youth summit set for March 27. The conference, which will be at the Montgomery College campus in Rockville, will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.

Planned activities include a "Speak Out" session, prizes, free food and entertainment. The event will also feature a Count Down to Brown and Beyond program to provide students with some historical information. Organizers have also arranged for students to receive information about colleges and other pertinent post-high school topics.

Only students who register before March 19 will be eligible for consideration in the prize drawings, which are yet unspecific. Registration forms are available in the guidance office and on the web at www.naacp-mc.org.

Transportation to the summit will be provided. Students can opt to take a bus from one of numerous designated schools throughout the county, of which Blair is one.
