Media center to close early for the remainder of the year

The media center will close at 3:30 p.m. for the remainder of the school year because of the loss of one of the media assistants.

The earlier closings began April 13 and are due to the loss of Donna Franklin, who took the position of financial secretary. The media center cannot get a new media assistant because of the Montgomery County hiring freeze that effects all the support staff.

"[Losing Franklin] was a huge loss for us, but it has been good for her," says media assistant Lisa Hack. "She has found something she loves to do." Hack says few kids stay till 4:00 p.m., and she expects that this will have a minimal impact.
