Mark Shriver speaks at Blair

State representative and canidate for congress Mark Kennedy Shriver spoke at Blair Monday afternoon.

The event was organized by Blair?s Student Democrats Association as the second in a series of speakers running for congress in the eighth congressional district.

Shriver spoke about his campaign against fellow democrats Mark Van Hollen and Ira Shapiro. He discussed student involvement in the political process, the environment, and the economy.

Shriver has been a member of the House of Delegates since 1995, according to the profile on his web site. His opponent, Shapiro, will be coming to speak on Tuesday, March 12. Shapiro is a former chief U.S. trade negotiator with Japan and Canada and was confirmed as an ambassador, according to his campaign web site.
