Seventeen-year-old Lee Boyd Malvo will be tried on November 10, 2003 for the October 14th killing of Linda Franklin. The trial is expected to last 8-12 weeks.

Malvo is being charged for capital murder in Fairfax County, Virginia, where he will be tried as an adult and have a higher probability of being sentenced to the death penalty than he would in Maryland or DC.

Malvo will turn 18 on February 18th, and will lose the guidance of his court appointed guardian, Todd G. Petit.

Recent evidence from a bank surveillance video shows Malvo entering a bank and inquiring about being wired a large sum of money (further reports indicate that this may not be Malvo; authorities unsure). Authorities say this evidence strengthens their suspicions that Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen Muhammad, who is also being charged for taking part in the shootings, had plans to extort millions of dollars from the government.

John Allen Muhammad, 47, will be tried for capital murder charges in Prince William County for the October 9th shooting of Dean Harold Meyers. Authorities plan to set the date close to Malvo's.

Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen Muhammad are suspected of the Washington DC area sniper shootings that occurred last fall, killing ten and wounding three.
