With only two wrestlers, the Blair junior varsity wrestling team won one match and lost the other against Seneca Valley on Tuesday, January 13, 2004.

Junior Andrew "Big City" Wallis won his heavyweight contest with an impressive pin only 33 seconds into his match, despite his opponent outweighing him by nearly fifty pounds.

Freshman Michael Street lost by pin early into his 171lb weight class match. Street was fighting just to avoid a pin from the start, and was struggling to fend off his Seneca Valley opponent for the entire match.

Street is new to wrestling this year and is just beginning to adapt to the sport. "I have improved a lot from the beginning of the year. Still, this is an adjustment year for me," said Street.

Wallis attributes his success to a good practice environment and the support of the coaches.

The Blazers travel to Damascus on Saturday, January 24, 2004 to take on both Damascus and Northwest.
