Juan Dixon watched his cousin and brother, who are on Blake's varsity basketball team, play against the Blazers at Blair on Jan. 12.

Blake defeated Blair 85-69. Blair will play Blake again on Feb. 4 at Blake.

Many Blazers who were watching the game were surprised to see him at the game. "It was really cool to see a famous basketball player at Blair," said junior Suzanne Adjogah. "When I realized it was him, I was in shock."

Junior Devon Proctor was also happy to meet Dixon. "I was surprised to see him at the game, and when I met him, I was even more surprised that he was really respectful and nice," said Proctor.

While playing for the University of Maryland, he was voted 2002 ACC Player of the Year and named Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Final Four. He currently plays for the Wizards and is ranked third in the NBA in steals per 48 minutes. Dixon gained national prestige for his clutch shooting, guiding the Maryland Terrapins to the NCAA Championship in 2001.

According to one Blazer, Juan Dixon is constantly around the Blair area. "I saw Juan Dixon at Blair one time, and he asked me how Blair's basketball team was doing during March of last year. I always see him around Four Corners," said junior Adedeji Ogunfolu.
