The new ID cards promised to all honor roll students at the recent academic pep rally have not been distributed because of technical difficulties.
At the pep rally on November 23, Renaissance sponsor Patricia Anderson told students they would receive their new IDs "next week" but they have had trouble finding a hole-punch that works and that cannot be imitated.
Anderson apologized for the delay and wants to emphasize that she has not forgotten the honor roll students. "I feel very badly about making people wait," said Anderson but, "when you start something new, there are always going to be some unexpected problems."
Some students do not care too much the specially hole-punched ID, they just want the benefits that come along with it. "I want my discount," said junior Lorpu Kpadeh.
Other students like senior Roy Richardson do not mind at all. "I didn't care but I was curious," he said.
Junior Shira Levy felt that being told that students were getting something and to never end up getting it, was not out of the ordinary. "It's just like Blair to never follow through," she said.
Anderson said that students can show their regular IDs at Jerry's and still get a ten percent discount. Students can also receive the same discount at Strosnider's with a special account number.
