Silver Chips writers win in health writing contest

For the seventeenth year in a row, Silver Chips Print has won the Children's National Medical Center's 16th Annual Students Journalists' Health Writing Contest. Five people placed in the top three positions, while four people received honorable mention.

Han Hu and L.A. Holmes placed first with their stories "Air Quality Question" and "Fibrocystic Breast Lumps Concern Lady Blazers." Jennifer Breads placed second with her story, "The Downside of Lighting Up." Simona Daniloska's "Sugar Spice and Not Playing Nice" and Amina Baird's "Distressed and Depressed by Anxiety" placed third.

The following students received honorable mention: Jeniffer Breads with "Teens Rattled About Coming Battle" and "Blazers Lived in Fear," Audrey Tornblom with Sreela Namboodiri with her story about "New Fat Food Policy," and Abigail Graber's "Backs Catch Flak from Heavy Packs" and "High Heals bring Teenagers Down."
