Silver Chips Online reaches 1,000,000

Blair's online newspaper, Silver Chips Online, reached 1,000,000 page views today.

Silver Chips Online uses Site Meter - Counter and Statistics Tracker to keep track of its page views and hits. Site Meter counts page views as the total number of pages that have been called up from Silver Chips Online to be viewed, and hits are counted as the number of times the site itself has been visited as a whole.

Currently, Silver Chips Online has had nearly 500,000 hits since Site Meter began counting on September 5, 1999.

Silver Chips Online was founded by then-junior Dan Zytnick in the 1998-1999 school year. It was originally mostly just a posting of Silver Chips' print edition. Under Editor-in-Chief Daina Klimanis in the 2000-2001 school year, Online expanded its staff and began writing more of its own stories.

This year, Editors-in-Chief Joe Howley and Robert Day gave Online a site redesign and upgrade and continued to produce more "Online Only" stories.
