Gymnastics leaps to highest score of season

Blair's gymnastics team earned its highest score of the season in a meet against Walter Johnson and Bethesda-Chevy Chase high schools at Walter Johnson on Tuesday, Apr 23.

Junior Jessica Stamler's individual score of 32.55 placed 5th overall in the competition and contributed to a team score of 122.5. Blair's other major contributors were junior Ilene Arnsdorf and senior Maryn Valdez, who scored 31.8 and 21.1 respectively.

The top five scores from the team count in each of the four events. Blair was able to fill 19 of the spots.

Stamler placed 3rd in the beam and floor events with scores of 8.8 and 8.95. Arnsdorf placed 6th on bars with a score of 7.7, 5th on beam with an 8.6, and 6th on vault with an 8.0.
