Several parts of Blair were covered with graffiti on Mar 24.
The portables, stadium press box and storage shed, and the back wall of the 70's hallway were all tagged. Much of the tagging had a political nature, such as protesting the war on Iraq.
According to Building Maintenance Manager James Brown, the school gets tagged every day. "[It's] usually just tagging in the bathrooms; places where there are no cameras," he said. However, such a large graffiti job is not typical. "We don't get that on a regular basis," said Brown.
The graffiti will most likely be cleaned off by next Tuesday, Apr 1. School board maintenance workers came to Blair on Mar 26 to inspect the damage and to block out the more offensive words. Because the chemicals needed to clean the graffiti off are too strong, Blair maintenance workers are not authorized to clean off the graffiti themselves.
The SGA is currently offering a reward of $200 for any information regarding the person or persons who created the graffiti.
