Blair held its annual fall sports awards night Wednesday, November 14th at 6:30, congratulating specific team members on their accomplishments and celebrating the success of the fall sports teams as a whole.

Athletic Director Dale Miller gave an opening speech about his pride in Blair's sports teams' success this year. He also said that Blair athletes are not just physically successful, but exemplify dignity and class on the field as well. "Our athletes are not only competitive on the field, but our athletes show very good sportsmanship. Win or lose, we are winners here at Blair High School," Miller said.

Another point of emphasis in Miller's speech was the academic prowess of Blair's athletes. Miller said that approximately 60 % of Blair's athletes receive scholar athlete awards, meaning that they had a 3.25 or higher GPA. Miller added that about 60 to 75 athletes receive all-As awards.

Miller was unable to hand out the scholar-athlete and all-As awards at the banquet, however, because the school has not yet issued report cards. He said that he would deliver those awards to the athletes' first period teachers as soon as report cards were given out.

The athletic awards given on the evening were Most Valuable Player (MVP), Most Outstanding Senior (MOS), the Coaches' Award (CA), and Most Improved Player (MIP).
