An electrical overload caused a brief power outage to occur at approximately 12:25 p.m. today, Feb. 9, causing many computers in the 60s hallways to shut down. The outage is the second in 10 days and the fifth this school year.
According to Building Engineer Reginald Tobin, the overload caused a breaker to be tripped. "There was too much on in the building," he said.
The breaker was reset a few minutes afterwards, according to Tobin, and power was restored to the building.
Unfortunately, there are no simple solutions to building overloads, said Tobin. "It happens from time to time," he explained.
According to Yearbook sponsor Jake Lee, who teaches in room 168, although the computers regained power, students were unable to log on as of 1:30 p.m. Additionally, the printer in the computer lab in room 165 was unable to receive any data as of 1:40 p.m.
