Monopoly, Candyland, Life and Clue selected
The class themes for the Oct. 14 homecoming dance are Monopoly for seniors, Candyland for juniors, Life for sophomores and Clue for freshmen. The SGA class council presidents and the freshman homecoming committee chair made the final decisions based on a general survey of students.
SGA secretary Christie Lin, who is responsible for coordination between the class councils and the SGA Cabinet, also announced a new part of this year's homecoming festivities: the "InfoFlow Pack." Each class council will create a short video showcasing its chosen board game to raise class spirit. The videos will air on Info Flow during the week of Oct. 9.
Like last year, each class will receive a section of Blair Boulevard to decorate according to their board game. The decoration is overseen by the class presidents and begins on Oct. 2. Also, the SGA will decorate the SAC with features from every class's board games for the homecoming dance.
SGA President Eric Hysen was happy with the selections and was pleased with how class presidents chose their board games. "One of the things that I was really happy to see was that the class presidents had all talked to many different students in their grade to get a diverse opinion," he said.
SGA Vice President Molly Martinez and 2007 Class Council President Anjana Mohanty spoke with students during lunch and in classes before deciding on Candyland and Monopoly for the upperclassmen's themes.
