Instead of dressing up as a cliché ghost, be your favorite celebrity

We've gotten to the age where dressing up as a witch, ghost, pumpkin or devil has become boring and unoriginal. With Halloween approaching, the question buzzing through everyone's mind is what (or who) to dress up as this holiday. Well, rather than pulling out your old witch hat or "Scream" mask, try dressing up as a celebrity! With the outrageous outfits celebrities are often caught wearing, this is practically the only time of the year when you can dress just like them without feeling like you belong in an asylum. SCO is here to give you insight on the celebrities who make for the most interesting Halloween costumes.

Jersey Shore Cast

You don't need to hit the gym, tan or do your laundry to be a part of the Jersey Shore crew this Halloween. For ladies, simply poof up your hair, wear a tight animal print dress, huge hoop earrings and try to get a two inch tip added to your nails. For the guys, take an excessive amount of gel and smother it in your hair, wear a plain white tank top with an "Italia" hoodie and fist pump your way through the streets all night long. For more tips, see this guide.

Lady Gaga

Whether you see her as a fashion icon or a freak, Gaga undoubtedly has quite an interesting wardrobe. If you're looking to dress as her for Halloween, costume shopping might be easier than you think. All you need is a platinum blonde wig with straight cut bangs, a sleeveless Bodycon dress, nude tights, huge sunglasses and outrageously tall high heels. If you don't feel like going for the typical Lady Gaga, then try draping a large piece of uncooked meat around your body. Cut the rest of the leftover meat to make hair accessories and poof -- you are now Lady Gaga at the 2010 Video Music Awards.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is known for her crazy style. To impersonate her for Halloween, try wearing a pink wig with bright pink lipstick. Add a short, poofy skirt and a tight corset to complete the look. To go the extra mile, talk in several different accents for the rest of the night and randomly start speaking in a really loud voice. You'll blow everyone away, and maybe even get asked for a few autographs.

Waka Flocka Flame

Dressing up as Waka will definitely get you some attention this Halloween. To clone his appearance, you'll need dreadlocks. But, if you're unable to grow dreads in time for trick-or-treating, there are several alternatives to make this costume work. Purchase an oversized black t-shirt that reads "1017 Brick Squad" and a large chain of your choice. If you don't feel like representing Brick Squad for the night, try creating a t-shirt that reads your "hood's" name instead. Finally, instead of saying "Trick or Treat" at every house yell, "Waka! Flocka! Flame!," and demand candy. Although this approach might scare a few ghosts and ghouls (and maybe even some kids), your costume will definitely impress.

Marilyn Monroe

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Marilyn Monroe's timeless beauty can be turned into the perfect costume. A simple white dress, red lipstick, a short blonde wig and pearls will turn you into Miss Monroe for the night. Dressing as Monroe is not only cheap, but extremely easy to pull off.

Each celebrity has their own unique style that you can play with to make the perfect costume for this weekend. Instead of just being a huge fan of your favorite celebrity, use this opportunity to become them for the day -- you might even make a few fans yourself.
