English teacher recalls her experiences

Bonnie Palmer has taught at Blair for 25 years, starting in 1979, and has lead an active role in the Blair community throughout.

She believes that being a teacher is "probably the most interesting job you can do." Apart from her English classes, she has coached the girls' soccer for a total of 10 years (1980-1982; 1989-1994), coached a local select under-18 women's soccer team and lead a student trip to Europe three times. She also sponsored the junior class and arranged such events as Jell-O wrestling.

Her fond memories are of "Mr. Gainous Jell-O-wrestling [P.E. teacher] Mr. Tabb" and leading Blair's soccer team to a Division II Championship in 1992. In Palmer's 25 years at Blair, she has made it through various incidents. "No two classes in any year were ever alike. It's always a different experience," she says.
