Sinclair twins emerge victorious

In Thursday's 4A/3A west regional indoor track meet at the Baltimore Armory, Blair placed second among the schools in its region. While Walter Johnson High School beat the Blazers out for first place, Blair's runners put up an impressive show and surprised many by grabbing the girls' second place prize.

The Blair girls were led by freshmen Halsey and Ashlyn Sinclair. Both girls dominated the 800m race, taking the first and second places. Halsey Sinclair won the 800m, the 1600m and the 3200m. Ashlyn Sinclair came in second in the 500m, 800m, and 1600m runs.

Runner Hilary Moen helped Walter Johnson to their victory, coming in second in two races. On the boys' side, Andrew Jesien, also of Walter Johnson, won the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m. The Walter Johnson girls also won two of their three relay races.

The Maryland State Indoor Track Meet will be held on February 17 at the Prince Georges Sportsplex. The event will be hosted by Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
