Two groups of Blair students received honorable mentions in The Oracle Education Foundation competition at thinkquest.org.

Around 2,000 students and coaches from 29 nations submitted websites for the October 2003 competition and two Blair groups received recognition.

The competition was to create a website that "presents a topic in a manner that informs, clarifies, engages, and deepens understanding of vital issues" as stated in the competition's criteria.

One group created a informative web site on Natural Disasters . The members consisted of Blair juniors Jeffrey Dunn, Daniel Liu and John Chai as well as a junior from Richard Montgomery, Jueli Li.

The second Blair group to receive nationwide recognition, juniors Sheila Rajagopal, Min Wu, Tencia Lee and Ana Karimi, created a website entitled the Dawn and Dusk of Man.

Liu says that his group first got involved when the after school web design club told them about the competition. He also said that the group mainly did it on their own time outside of school. "It was just a hobby, it was for fun," said Liu.

His group has been working since October and chose their topic to be natural disasters out of a long list of categories. They are considering to also compete in the summer competition.
