Blair has no chance in beating

DEC 3, WHEATON ICE RINK-
The Blair hockey team engaged in yet another blowout today, losing to Whitman High School 10-2. The Blazers were simply out-passed, out-shot, and out-scored by Whitman's far more experienced squad.
The Blazers were noticeably weaker and slower than their opponents, as their inexperience made them focus on skating straight (and staying on their feet) rather than putting shots on goal. They were out-shot 60-10 in the game.
After the game, Coach Kevin McCabe pointed out why the Blazers might not be on their way to the Stanley Cup anytime soon. "Our inexperience was apparent," McCabe explains. "Heck, a lot of kids are new to the game of ice hockey this year."
It is because of this inexperience that many Blazers go "fishing for the puck," according to McCabe. This means that because many players are new they tend to put their head down to focus on the puck, and by the time they find it they have no chance to get it.
The brightest spot of light shedding on the season comes at the goalie position. Though letting 10 shots sail through the net, the two Blair goalies, junior Graham Matthews and freshman Ginsberg, played well. Ginsberg alone in the last two periods saved 50 shots, 5 times what the Whitman goalie saw all game.
Junior forward Bradley Gee had a few opportunities for goals, one of which he capitalized on. After going back and forth between sticks in a big furious cloud of players, the puck found its way to Gee's stick, and Gee sent it into the upper shelf for Blair's first goal of the game in the second period.
The Blazer's next game is on Friday, December 5 against Blake.
