Staff writer visits to observe problem

A staff writer for The Washington Post, Rebecca Dana, observed the throng of students exiting Blair after seventh period yesterday, Sept. 17. Her feature on Blair overcrowding will be published today, Saturday, Sept. 18 in the Metro Section of The Washington Post.

Dana had gotten calls from parents about how many students over capacity Blair is, and decided to write an article addressing the issue. "I looked up and down the listervs, and got a total crash course in the MoCo School system," explained Dana. She finished her story on Blair overcrowding and came to witness the infamous multitudes of students traveling down Blair Boulevard towards the SAC.

Before today, Dana did not have clearance to enter the school, and conducted her interviews outside by catching teens as they exited the SAC entrance. "I had a tough time getting people, especially Mr. Gainous."

"It [overcrowding] wasn't as bad as I expected it to be," said Dana as she surveyed the masses of students. "But I know this is a serious issue."
