On Dec. 14, Blair will be hosting its 2nd Annual Winter Project LIT Free Book Fair. Students are able to come to the media center and choose from a plethora of books, ranging from romance to thriller and mystery genres. Books are available for all age groups, including preschoolers.

Blair’s chapter of Project LIT, an organization that seeks to build a community around reading, is hosting the fair to promote interconnectedness within the school. Blair librarian Andrea Lamphier adds that this book fair is not just about community service, but also for providing students with a greater exposure to literature. “[It’s] in part talking about thinking about books in a wider world,” she says.

However, the book fair is not exclusively open to students. Staff members can also peruse through the selections from 6th period till the end of the day. In addition, Project LIT members will be hosting a raffle to give out selected books.

Update: Around 500 - 700 students and staff came to get books. Students were allowed to get two books from the main section of the media center and three books from the kid and middle school book sections.
