Many of Blair's 1,350 computers experienced problems today, Jan. 27 during period 5B.

The computers, along with overheads, televisions and other appliances, stopped working at around 12 p.m. The vending machines also ceased to function. Most of the rooms in the science, ESOL, math, CAP and Magnet departments were affected as well, but lighting was not. Some rooms retained power in their appliances, including the Media Center.

Building Services manager Quentin Middleton said the blackout was "just a phase" and that the computers had probably overloaded their electricity source. "We just had to reset them," said Middleton.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
