The Blazers are shut out and fall to 2-2

The Blazers (2-2) took a big loss against the Churchill Bulldogs (3-2) by a score of 4-0 on Sept. 16. Churchill snuck the ball past senior goalkeeper Brennan Moore in the first half, and in the second half Churchill's offense scored another three goals against junior goalkeeper Donovan Cox to extend their lead and secure the victory. Throughout the game, Blair's offense had numerous opportunities to score, but were unable to capitalize on them.

The Bulldogs' offense dominated the Blazers' defense, which simply couldn't keep up. "I felt like we were always a man down. Our defensive midfielders were either too high or too low which allowed for a man in the middle to play an easy ball," captain and senior midfielder Walter Sosa said.

Blair seemed to be mentally defeated after missing many chances and letting in four goals. "We started on allowing a goal, then missing an open opportunity to tie the game and it takes a toll on your mentality," head coach Edvin Hernandez said. The Blazers look to improve upon these mistakes looking forward. "We're looking forward to bouncing back from this and becoming a better team on defense and offense," Sosa said.

The Blazers play their next home game against the Springbrook Blue Devils on Sept. 23 at 7:15 P.M.
