Taking traditional Easter candy to scrumptious desserts


Once all the eggs have been hidden and found, children and adults alike will be looking forward to feasting with family and friends. While adults find ways to avoid all the sugary treats, kids will seek some sugar to stay hyper and happy. Raw candy may be easier to prepare, but the customized presentation of a bunny-like desserts will delight those who want something new. All the leftover Easter candy needs to go somewhere - get some brownie points for doing it right!

Bunny cake
Prep time is about 40 minutes. Makes about 10 servings.

Kitchenware:
- 8 inch circular cake pan
- 2 sheets of about 10 x 10 inches clear plastic wrap
- frosting spatula
- mixing bowl
- beater or whisk
- measuring cup
- serving plate
- scissors

Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- 1 package 4-serving size Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
- 28 Oreos
- 2 oval sandwich cookies or wafers
- 1 gum drop
- 2 M&Ms
- 1 cup miniature jet puffed marshmallows
- 1 1/2 cups Frosting
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut
- 4 pieces of 12 inch licorice

Preparation:


1. Pour the milk and pudding mix into the mixing bowl and whisk or beat until blended.
2. Line the cake pan with one piece of plastic wrap.
3. Put one layer of 14 Oreos on the cake pan.
4. Spread one cup of the pudding mixture on top of the Oreos.
5. Put a layer of marshmallows on top of the pudding mixture.
6. Put another layer of 14 Oreos on top of the marshmallow layer.
7. Spread the rest of the pudding mixture on to the Oreo layer.
8. Cover the cake pan with the second piece of plastic wrap.
9. Put the cake pan in refrigerator for at least 24 hours.
10. Remove the second piece of plastic wrap.
11. Put the serving plate face down onto cake pan. Invert serving plate and cake pan so that the cake pan is upside down and the serving plate is sitting on a table.
12. Remove the cake pan and plastic wrap.
13. Frost the cake with the frosting spatula.
14. Decorate the cake with the oval cookies or wafers as ears, licorice as the whiskers and mouth, gum drops as the nose and M&Ms as the eyes. Use the scissors to resize the licorice as needed.
15. Sprinkle flaked coconut evenly onto cake.
16. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!

Prep time is about 15 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

- beater or whisk
- measuring cup

Ingredients:
- 2 cups milk
- 1 package 4-serving size Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
- About 12 M&Ms
- 8 oval sandwich cookies or wafers
- 4 gum drops
- 8 miniature jet puffed marshmallows
- 8 pieces of 12 inch licorice

Preparation:


1. Pour the milk and pudding mix into the mixing bowl and whisk or beat until blended.
2. Spoon the pudding mixture evenly into dessert dishes.
3. Decorate each pudding dish with oval cookies or wafers as ears, licorice as whiskers, M&Ms as a mouth, a gum drop as the nose and marshmallows as the eyes. Use the scissors to resize the licorice as needed.
4. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!
