APRIL 30, WATKINS MILL FIELD-

Watkins Mill High School beat Blair baseball by a score of 9-2 at Watkins Mill to drop Blair's record to 8-6.

Most of the injured Blazers returned to action for tonight's game. Senior pitcher Mike Coe made his first start pitching to Blake High School on April 23. A swollen finger made him miss his last scheduled start versus Springbrook High School.

Senior center fielder Will Fassett, junior catcher Max Eckert and junior shortstop Josh Richardson accounted for Blair's five hits. Watkins Mill had seven.

Watkins Mill broke out in the 4th inning with seven of their nine runs. The Blazers played respectably but made several bad team choices like misplaying bunts and missing opportunities for outs in fielder's choice situations, according to Coach John Macdonald. "We just seem to be playing uninspired baseball," he said.

Blair's next game is against Gaithersburg High School at Blair on Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. Blair has a game every other day until the regular season ends on May 8. Playoff seeds will be randomly chosen this weekend.
